I am SO excited to start the 2017-2018 school year this Wednesday!!!
Things I'm looking forward to:
1. Playing more music games
2. Singing, playing instruments and making music together as much as possible
3. Learning from each other and practicing being a better team every day
4. Hearing our 6th graders explain WHY we study music (more on that later!)
5. Using the manipulatives (blocks, sorting cards, bouncy balls, etc.) that we've added to our collection
6. Our Winter Concert (I'm so excited about our theme!!!)
7. Our *new* Musician of the Month project
8. SEEING ALL OUR PARK SHARKS AGAIN!

This year, we will be exploring the music of a different musician each month. Students can expect to listen to, play along with, sing or discuss music from our Musician of the Month at every music class. I will choose the Musician of the Month for August-April.
At the end of April, students will vote for our 2017-2018 Park Musician of the Year. That musician's photo and information will be proudly displayed in May on our bulletin board! (Maybe we can even try to contact him/her/them to let them know they received this honor!!!)
Also, each month, I will post a youtube playlist of songs by our Musician of the Month so you can listen to them at home!
